Description
An ice hockey uniform integrates extensive protective gear beneath a durable jersey and heavily padded pants (breezers).
The mandatory equipment worn for safety includes a helmet with a face mask, shoulder pads, elbow pads, shin guards, gloves, and an athletic cup or pelvic protector.
The visible outer layers are the team-colored, numbered jersey and footless hockey socks that cover the shin guards. Players also wear specialized ice skates for movement and control on the ice.
